The Prom Dress Project provides socially-conscious, affordable, and sustainable prom dresses to high school students in the Ann Arbor area. Our goal is to allow every girl to attend her prom in an amazing dress that won’t break the bank.
The Ann Arbor Prom Dress Project is the passion of longtime Ann Arbor resident, Jan Wery. The project is supported entirely by volunteers. Hundreds of young adults and women in the Ann Arbor community contributed to the project by donating formal dresses.
The March 12, 2017, sale is hosted by the senior class at the First Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Ann Arbor. The class has students from nearly every high school in Washtenaw County. All profits from the sale will be donated to the Ozone House, an emergency shelter and support group for homeless youth, runaway teens, and families in Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti.
